The Rorschach test is a projective personality tool where people describe what they see in symmetrical inkblots. By helping to verbalize abstract emotions, it provides insight into a person’s character. Created in 1921 by Hermann Rorschach, the test became world-famous, largely due to its unique graphic style.
Traditionally, a set of 10 specific images is used for clinical evaluation. However, because these images have become so iconic and easily found online, they are rarely used in actual clinical practice anymore.
This presents a dilemma: for the assessment to be reliable, it’s crucial that the viewer sees the images for the first time. Now that the original cards are "spoiled" by their own fame, the test has lost its effectiveness as a standardized tool.
If the original goal was to spark verbal expression, we can assume Rorschach chose his images based on their potential for infinite interpretation. This project taps into the nature of Generative NFT technology to create brand-new visuals—inspired by the original 10 cards—that no one has ever seen. We aim to redefine the creation process by seeing how many different interpretations these new cards can trigger in the market.
Just like Tarot cards, each NFT can act as a mirror, projecting the holder's current state through a sense of random "prophecy." In an age where AI constantly hits us with "perfectly logical answers," this kind of non-verbal uncertainty becomes all the more vital.
