This work reads randomly occurring ON/OFF grid states through a fixed set of rules, setting them in motion like a living system.
With the added interruption of accidental global incidents, it becomes an ecology of order and collapse.
At the local level, countless micro-updates continue relentlessly; at the global level, forces such as rotation, inversion, and scanlines periodically disrupt the world.
And yet the image never disappears: brief moments of structure emerge from the noise, only to dissolve again.
Within this mechanical repetition, the observer may discover a faint sense of temporal warmth, like breathing.
