The Baum Test is a projective psychological assessment developed in 1945 by the Swiss psychologist Karl Koch. In this test, the examinee is asked to draw a fruit-bearing tree (Baum is the German word for “tree”), and the drawing is used to analyze the individual’s personality, inner world, and unconscious psychological state.
While the test does not rely on language ability, it does depend on drawing skills and spatial cognitive abilities.
In this work, the act of choosing may reveal one’s unconscious state of mind.
